Yet even in the hardest, most hostile places on earth, house churches are being planted — bringing the hope of the Gospel, and the support of true community, to families with nowhere else to turn.
In the Balkans, a woman lost her adult son during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overwhelmed by grief and illness, she felt she had nothing left — until a neighbor invited her to a small home fellowship.
Believers surrounded her with prayer and compassion, walking beside her through the darkest season of her life. Today, she volunteers to help prepare meals for families in her community, and shares with others the hope she found in Christ.

Compel International works alongside local believers across 37 countries, serving 65 unreached people groups and over 577 million people — many with no church, no believers, and no Scripture in a language they understand. In 2024 alone, 127 churches were planted and 1,549 people came to faith for the first time.
