A Miracle in the Mountains of Nepal

Names, locations, and images have been changed to protect the identity of individuals in sensitive regions.

In a remote village nestled in the hills of Nepal, a family on the brink of despair witnessed the power of prayer, community, and the healing grace of God.

Sickness Without a Name

For over two years, Kamal—a 67-year-old father and grandfather—suffered from painful, unexplained wounds and a growing paralysis that robbed him of the ability to walk. Doctors found no answers, and traditional healers only deepened his family's suffering.

“We tried everything,” shared his daughter. “We spent everything. There was nothing left—not even a chicken or an egg.”

With Kamal unable to move and no resources left, his family of seven spiraled into hopelessness. His sons and daughters, some living in other homes, watched helplessly as their father’s condition worsened. The family began to question whether hope would ever return.

An Invitation That Changed Everything

Then came a visit from Raju and Pastor Prem—two men from a nearby fellowship who had heard of Kamal’s suffering. They came not only with prayers and encouragement, but with practical care and support. As they returned to visit regularly, they invited Kamal to a local gathering of believers. With the help of his family, Kamal attended.

The entire fellowship began to pray for his healing. Pastor Prem began to visit the family’s home and share Bible stories, helping them discover the character and promises of God.

“We are thankful. The church prayed for our father, and he is healed.” — Kamal’s daughter

A Week of Healing, a Life Transformed

Within a week, something remarkable happened. Kamal stood up. Then he began walking. His wounds started to heal. Strength returned to his limbs. What doctors could not do, God accomplished in answer to prayer.

Today, Kamal is walking, feeding his animals, and sharing his story of healing with neighbors. He and his wife have placed their faith in Christ and are now part of a growing group of disciples gathering in their home to study the Word of God.

Their daughter, still on her own journey of faith, says, “After believing in Jesus, even our family’s condition has started to improve. Please pray for my family. We are also waiting for God’s time to become disciples of Jesus Christ.”

“By God’s grace, a miracle unfolded within one week.”

A Seed Planted in the Mountains

Kamal’s story reflects the kind of transformation that begins when God’s people show love through both action and truth. Through visits, prayer, Scripture, and the power of Christ, a broken family found healing, hope, and new life.

The seed of the gospel has taken root in this mountain village—and it’s beginning to bear fruit.
