Building Hope in Pakistan: Women, Wholeness, and the Power of Local Training
Names, locations, and images have been changed to protect the identity of individuals in sensitive regions.
In the borderlands between southern and central Pakistan, where access to clean water is scarce and formal education even scarcer, women are discovering a new kind of hope—one rooted in health, dignity, and a growing vision of God’s Kingdom.
Sowing Seeds of Health and Transformation
Across Pakistan, Compel International partners have been investing in the lives of women through practical, biblically grounded training. In a farming village near the southern border, where poverty and limited knowledge about maternal health have led to preventable suffering, local leaders organized life-saving workshops for expectant mothers and caregivers.
In early 2025, 40 women gathered to learn how to care for themselves and their children. Many had never received any formal education—and yet their eagerness to learn, grow, and apply the lessons was striking. Through the Birth Life Saving Skills (BLISS) curriculum, these women explored topics ranging from nutrition and hydration during pregnancy to recognizing danger signs after childbirth.
A follow-up BLISS training in a rural settlement in central Pakistan brought together women from diverse backgrounds—some homemakers, others in the medical field—who all lacked crucial knowledge about maternal and infant care. They left with practical tools and spiritual encouragement to care for the most vulnerable in their communities.

Making Disciples Where the Gospel Is Rare
In March, another kind of seed was sown in an agricultural district in the Punjab region. Twenty-nine believers—pastors, elders, students, and homemakers—from seven nearby rural communities gathered for a four-day discipleship training. They explored how God’s vision for community and health can be integrated into everyday life and shared with others.
This training went far beyond teaching facts. Participants practiced storytelling, explored spiritual truths, and learned how to form discovery groups where people read and respond to Scripture together.
“The most important lesson for me was how to strengthen my relationship with God. Women can share the Big Story with their neighbors too.”
In regions where literacy is low and church presence is sparse, these trainings are building local ownership and long-term sustainability—one disciple at a time.
Local Vision, Lasting Impact
The work didn’t stop with these events. In each location, trainers formed WhatsApp groups and committed to visiting participants every two months, ensuring follow-up and encouragement. Several vision seminars were held in both urban centers and rural districts, helping church leaders build unity and cast vision for local collaboration in Gospel-centered transformation.
Compel International’s partnerships with trusted local networks reflect our commitment to raising up Christ-centered, multiplying, and transformed communities in places where the Gospel is not yet known.
