My Journey of Healing and Hope

Names, locations, and images have been changed to protect the identity of individuals in sensitive regions.

For many years, my family and I lived under the heavy weight of sickness, poverty, and spiritual darkness. We tried everything our traditions offered, but nothing brought relief—until the day we heard about Jesus Christ.

A Life of Suffering

I am Srey, a 43-year-old wife and mother of two from Cambodia. Devoted to Buddhism and ancestral traditions, my family and I followed the ways passed down to us. Yet our lives were filled with pain—constant stomachaches, headaches, fevers, heart issues, and even mental torment. Poverty and hopelessness pressed us down. I often wondered: Had we been cursed by evil spirits or ancestors?

In desperation, we tried everything—fortune tellers, rituals, ceremonies, health centers, and private clinics. We spent what little money we had, but our suffering only grew worse. I felt trapped in a dark tunnel with no way out.

A New Message of Hope

Then, something changed.

A Christian woman from a nearby church began visiting our village. She spoke of a God who heals, who delivers, and who offers peace. She shared lessons about health, values, and above all—the Good News of Jesus Christ.

At first, I listened cautiously. But when she offered to pray for us, I agreed. To my amazement, as she prayed in Jesus’ name, our sicknesses lifted. Our bodies felt stronger, and peace filled our hearts.

Transformation Through Christ

From that day forward, we chose to follow Jesus. We removed the ancestral altar from our home. I took off the protective amulet I had trusted for years. We left behind the darkness we once depended on.

From that moment, everything began to change. Our sicknesses left us. Our minds felt lighter. Joy and peace flooded our hearts.

Today, we thank God for His miraculous healing and deliverance. My family enjoys good health, financial stability, and new opportunities through farming and a small grocery shop. We are saving money instead of wasting it on rituals that never worked.

Living as Witnesses

Every Sunday, my whole family attends church with joy. We share our testimony openly, so others may also walk from darkness into God’s marvelous light.

We are living testimonies of God’s power and mercy.
— Srey

We once lived in despair, but now we live in the hope of Christ. Truly, Jesus has given us life—body, soul, and spirit.
