Finding Peace Through Christ in Cambodia
Names, locations, and images have been changed to protect the identity of individuals in sensitive regions.
In one Cambodian community, God is bringing peace and transformation to families through the faithful witness of local believers and ongoing discipleship. What once felt broken and hopeless is now becoming a testimony of healing, prayer, and new life in Christ.
At just 13 years old, “Sreyneang” has already experienced deep challenges in her home and personal life. Growing up in a rural area of Cambodia, she remembers constant conflict in her family.
“Every day there was shouting and arguing in our home. We hurt each other with our words, and there was no peace.”
Sreyneang said her family often fought with one another, and even trust inside the home had broken down. Sickness was common, and she struggled personally with anger, selfishness, and emotional confusion. She also battled anxiety and sleeplessness, leaving her unable to focus on school or daily life.
Everything began to change when her older sister introduced her to Jesus.
Through the encouragement of local believers and the faithful discipleship of a pastor in the region, Sreyneang began learning how to pray and trust God in everyday situations. Over time, she says Christ transformed both her heart and her home.
“Now I pray every night before I sleep, and God gives me peace. My family is happier now, and we no longer live the way we used to.”
Today, Sreyneang says her family has stopped constantly arguing, relationships inside the home are healing, and they are experiencing greater peace together. She also shared that her health and emotional well-being have improved significantly since placing her faith in Christ.
Most importantly, Sreyneang has discovered a personal relationship with Jesus and the comfort of bringing every struggle to God in prayer.
Her story reflects the quiet but powerful work God is doing through local churches and disciple-makers across Cambodia — bringing hope, restoration, and lasting transformation to families one life at a time.
